How do I register as a student and what is the registration process?
You may drop by personally or with a guardian (if you are under 18) or do an online registration. You will be required to make full payment of all necessary fees prior to confirm your enrolment.
We need at least two working days to process your enrolment. We do not allow same day enrolments/commencements.
We accept: PayNOW, Bank Transfers, NETS, Credit Cards (VISA/MASTER/AMEX) & Cash. With the exception of PayNOW and Bank Transfer, all other modes of payment must be done in person.
You are advised to make payment as soon as possible as time slots are on a first come first served basis. We only reserve slots after full payment has been made.
Am I able to choose my instructor?
Yes you may. However, please understand that this will depend on the instructor’s availability. It would ultimately be more prudent to choose a time slot that suits you best and you can commit to. This results in a more conducive learning experience.
I am a working adult. Do you have weekday evening slots?
Yes we do. Our last time slot for lesson is 8pm on weekdays, 5pm on weekends.
How do I withdraw my enrolment?
Please give our admin staff 1 month’s advance official notice.
Your deposit will then be:
a) Utilised as 1 final lesson.
b) Utilised as part of a final package should you require more lessons before your withdrawal.

What is the student deposit for?
The requirement of a school deposit is common among established music schools.
It is retained as a security deposit for us, in the event where students are late or default on their fee payments or if they terminate their lessons without giving the required 1 month's advance notice.
The deposit is mandatory and does not work in conjunction with any discounts.
Upon official notice of withdrawal/termination (a withdrawal form is required to be signed), your deposit will be:
a) Utilised as 1 final lesson.
b) Utilised as part of a final package should you require more lessons before your withdrawal.
When do I need to pay Package fees?
We offer 1, 3 & 6 month lesson packages, with discounts available for 3 & 6 month packages.
Package fees are due for renewal in the last week of the final package month, regardless of 4 lessons completion.

Do you offer any discounts?
All students are entitled to these discounts:
Enjoy a 3% discount on your package fees when you pay for 3 months.
Enjoy a 8% discount on your package fees when you pay for 6 months.
Package fees paid in advance are encouraged for students who are busy and want to minimise visits to the school to make monthly payment.
Are there lessons on a month with 5 weeks
Make-up lessons can be conducted on the 5th week. If you do not have any outstanding make-up lessons, it will be considered a break.
Are there lessons on public holidays?
We are closed on certain Public Holidays. Your lesson will be rescheduled. Please refer to this calendar for our closure dates.
If I fall ill and cannot attend lesson, do I get a make-up lesson?
In the event of illness, you will need to inform the school at least 2 hours in advance.
A medical certificate must be provided to the school in order to schedule a make-up lesson.
Failure to do so will result in the lesson being forfeited.
If I fall ill but do not see a doctor, do I still get a make-up lesson?
No. You will not be entitled to a make-up class. This is to prevent any potential abuse of our school’s system and administration process. We need to apply consistency and be fair to other students who had their lessons forfeited due to last minute cancellation.
The school reserves the right to send you home should you turn up for lessons ill. You will then be required to procure a medical certificate for the day. Failure to do so will result in the lesson being forfeited. This is to prevent illnesses from spreading to our staff and other students.
May I cancel a lesson if I am unable to attend?
If you need to cancel your lesson, they must be done the day before and before our closing hours to qualify for make-up lessons.

What if my instructor is absent?
When your instructor is absent due to medical or other official leave, a relief instructor may be assigned to cover the lesson on his/her behalf. Alternatively, make-up lessons with your instructor may be scheduled to cover the lesson.
Can I book a room for practice?
Yes! Students are encouraged to book the rooms for practice!
Practice room rates are:
60mins - $10 per student
Do call the school to check the availability of rooms.
Music lessons will have priority over booking of the practice rooms.
Booking of practice rooms must be during available slots and within opening hours.
Practice rooms will not be available for bookings on Public Holidays.
Keep the rooms clean, neat and tidy at all times.
Student is responsible for any damage caused to instruments or practice rooms.
Thunder Rock School reserves the right to assign or change rooms, reschedule, postpone or cancel the booking anytime at our discretion.
Are the practice rooms open to public?
No. They are exclusively for Thunder Rock School students only.
Can I change my regular lesson time slot to another day or time?
Yes, you may request to change your regular lesson time. However, Regular lesson slots cannot be changed in the middle of a package, any changes will only take effect from the next package onwards. You can however, opt to do makeup lessons should you no longer be able to have lessons on your regular slots mid package
Am I allowed to stop lessons temporarily midway through my package?
No. You are only allowed to stop lessons after your current package ends. Any temporary stoppage of lessons will be deemed as a withdrawal from the school and any outstanding lessons and deposit will be forfeited.
Who do I contact regarding Adminstrative/School related matters?
Please contact the school directly. Contacting of teachers directly regarding any administrative matters is strictly prohibited and any requests done via this method will be considered null and void.
