Joanna Lim
The seasoned performer from sunny island, Singapore, is not afraid to debunk stereotypes. Rocking out behind the synthesizers and saxophone has given Joanna a strong stage persona. Her performing journey began in 2005 and had since sessioned for different acts like progressive outfit - Zero Sequence, Singapore popular duo - Jack and Rai, The Simon Yong Band, DJs from Zouk SG, Heritage Singapore etc. She has also played alongside Uli Jon Roth (ex-Scorpion guitarist) and YouTube sensation Grandma Rock aka Grandma Mary.
Music has brought Joanna to perform in Cannes, Tokyo, Osaka, New York City, Guang Zhou, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. Locally, her more prominent gigs include festivals like Baybeats, Mosaic Music Festival, City65 Music Festival, NParks Rockestra, F1 Singapore.
Joanna now performs regularly at pubs (Wala Wala, Timbre), weddings and events with bands - Reverie, KINGS and Singapore’s very own Beatles Tribute band The Day Trippers, as their keyboardist and saxophonist. She is also the saxophonist for Singapore Eagles' Tribute Band - Johnny Come Lately, The Souls Singapore and Singapore Horn Trio - The Blackhorns.
Joanna’s debut album, “Parallel Vortex”, archives her musical roots and journey. The 8 track instrumental album revisits the “progressive rock” and “soundscape” genres via lush keyboard works and saxophone.
Joanna is proud to be an Audio Technica and CME artist and a teacher at Thunder Rock School.
