LJ Lee
LJ has been an active professional drummer and has done session work for some local live cover bands regularly since 2010 in places such as Wala Wala, Beer Market, Mcgettingans, Bungy Bar and Brix just to name a few. He has been more involved in doing session works for singer songwriters since the start of 2016, such as recording and live performance works for Simon Yong, Jerry Galeries and Dru Chen. Few of the highlights of 2016 was performing with Simon Yong at Esplanade Outdoor Theatre and Dru Chen for the 2017 Mediacorp Count Down Show.
First involvements in the local music scene was with Pop Rock outfit, Aurigami, fronted by Syltra Lee, along with instrumental powerhouses Wylde Boon and Yazied Rahman. They have actively participated in events performing originals and renditions of their favourite songs. The Milestone for the band was the Mediacorp program “Live ‘n’ Loaded”.
LJ is also a founding member of the band Slate. Playing ranges of music from rock classics to high energy pop numbers, Slate has performed in media associated events hosted by popular radio stations and selected pubs in the live music circuit.
LJ has been teaching drums in various music schools since 2008 and is currently a full time drum educator with Thunder Rock School. He has been heavily involved with the progress of the school since 2013. He also plays regularly in the night scene, as a resident musician of a venue, as well as sessions for various bands in the circuit.
